Camping Experiences

Our camping program provides age‑appropriate experiences that support student wellbeing, confidence and connection through carefully planned activities across the primary years.

The program is designed to be gradual and supportive. Experiences begin with short, familiar activities for younger students and build over time as students grow in confidence, independence and readiness.

Camping Experiences from Prep to 6

For Prep students, the camping program begins with an on‑site, school experience. Students arrive early for a shared breakfast at school and take part in activities in a familiar environment. This gentle introduction helps young students feel secure while beginning to explore new routines together.

In Year 1, students return to school in the early evening to share dinner with peers and enjoy a group activity or performance. This experience supports independence while maintaining strong routines and adult support.

In Year 2, students take part in a low‑key overnight experience at school. This includes shared meals, a group activity and time together in the school hall. The focus is on helping students build confidence and familiarity with staying overnight away from home in a supportive setting.

In Year 3 and 4, students participate in an off‑site camp that is held every second year. This experience introduces new activities and outdoor learning opportunities over several days. With staff guidance, students practise decision‑making, problem‑solving and working together in a structured and supported environment.

In Years 5 and 6, camps include a greater focus on personal responsibility, teamwork and reflection. Activities are selected to provide safe challenges that encourage students to work collaboratively and consider their choices. Staff continue to provide support while encouraging students to take increased responsibility for their experience.

Access, inclusion and support

The school subsidises the cost of camps to support access and inclusion. This helps ensure all students can participate, regardless of family circumstances. Safety and wellbeing are a priority across all camp experiences, with planning and supervision in place at every stage.
